Fisheries

Marine Scotland manages quota for fish stocks and all inshore fisheries within the 12 nautical mile territorial water limit. It is also responsible for controlling the activities of fishing vessels and fishing effort (days spent at sea) in the North Sea, west of Scotland and Faroese waters.

Report on the 2023 razor clam survey in the Firth of Clyde and the 2024 survey in the Solway

This report describes surveys carried out in the Firth of Clyde in the autumn of 2023, and in Fleet Bay in the Solway in January 2024 as part of the Scottish Government’s scientific trial into electrofishing for razor clams. The survey was conducted as part of the Scottish Government’s electrofishing scientific trial (Scottish Government, 2017). This report presents the results of scientific work commissioned by the Marine Directorate.
