Scottish Marine and Freshwater Science Vol
This report details the metadata associated with the Scottish Coastal Observatory (SCObs) dataset (DOIXXXX) that has been uploaded onto the Marine Scotland website. The SCObs dataset contains weekly data on temperature, salinity, nutrients, ocean acidification, dissolved oxygen, phytoplankton communities, algal toxins, chlorophyll ‘a’ and zooplankton communities that have been collected from around the Scottish coast since 1997. An update to sampling locations, analytical methodologies and quality control information to accompany the dataset is presented in this report to provide supportive information to end users when considering analysis of the SCObs dataset and to aid interpretation of outputs.
