Weekly counts of salmon emigrating from the Girnock and Baddoch smolt traps during spring, 1990-2021

Aggregated weekly data on the numbers of Atlantic salmon emigrants captured in the Girnock and Baddoch emigrant traps between the start of the year and the end of June 1990-2021. individuals recorded as "fry" or <70mm have been excluded from the data summary. Data were exported from the MS FishObs database and aggregated at a weekly level in R. Zero values can indicate either that no fish were caught or that the traps were not visited that week. Numbers reflect the week in which fish were processed rather then the week in which they were caught. The number of visits to the traps varies over time and reflects availability of staff resource, time of year and flow conditions. For more details on smolt trap operations see: Bacon, P.J., Malcolm, I.A., Fryer, R.J., Glover, R.S., Millar, C.P. and Youngson A.F. (2015).
