This dataset includes a series of GIS layers produced from a Marine Scotland Science survey of the Pentland Firth. Bathymetric data collected during the survey has been converted for use in ARCGIS and several products are derived from this original dataset.

| Data Dictionary | The Original bathymetry is tide corrected using Chart Datumn. ASCII ArcGrid output is converted to raster (geotiff format). ESRI Spatial analyst tools used to created additional products (Hillshade, aspect, slope and rugosity). These are made available as layer packages for use with ArcGIS and a KMZ package for use with Google Earth as well as in specialist 3D formats and as XYZ data. |
